(L) V-350 pro Vs. (M) 304 ? any thoughts?

Howdy Folks!!  I'm looking for thoughts on what you all think is the better machine for the price.  I am finding used V-350's (advanced process model with pulsing and doo-dahs), and the Miller XMT 304's just the power units for about 1,400 (M)  - 1,850 (L)  used on Ebay.  These are really my best options I believe, since the use is severe duty back yard builder.... I WANT to be able to add a cockpit to an alluyminum boat... or be ABLE to arc gouge, even if I don't choose too.  And I want to learn to tig weld too..., but on steel.  I can settle for mig welding alluminum. For a year or two    I allready have all the cables and torches / accesories for either of these machines.  At least the ones that will work for both.  I would also have to piece together a wire feeder, and a tig amptrol for the brand I went with.  Any thoughtsd would be greatly appreciated!!!
