My first project (1977)

I made this in high school metal shop.  We never picked up a stinger.   It was what ever was on the shelf for sheet.  I bent the angles in a vice with a hammer.   Still using it as a dustpan.Can ya tell I'm getting bored?DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Now have your son build one...same deal torch only and see how he does....o/a welding and braising is fading away as not only is it not used as much but it's not being passed along.

Reply:OMG!....So, I noticed that you've got welding regulators and stuff just layin around the house.  Nice post.  It brought back some great memories.  Welding was manditory at Kiowa Jr. High in Colorado our 8th grade year and we had more girls in the class than guys I think.  Imagin how that would go over today...."Sir...your doughter has to take welding class to graduate Jr. High"!  Hope your healing up well.  Hey!...You could make up a here and now version of the same thing while your layed up.  It's only like 2 pounds.
Reply:What guy doesn't have things like regulators laying on the coffee table?I had my Dillon reloader set up on my coffee table for almost a year.  Then when the girlfriend moved in it moved out... Hernia, that does not sound like fun! Me!
Reply:I did plenty of projects on our coffee table when I was younger and lived in an apartment. My girlfriend didn't really care as long as I cleaned up when I was done. My mom got married to a guy that had his craftsman toolbox on the floor next to his recliner. He would work on stuff on the coffee table while watching tv. My mom kinda gave up and made a flowery female type of cover for the tool box. So when you walked into her apartment it looked like an end table by the recliner with a cover on it. As soon as he was alone though, off came the cover. Funny how we always make room and time for what is important. Reply:I use to rebuild my race bikes in the living room of my apartments. For some reason I never got my security deposit back. They always seem to say the apartment needed extra cleaning.
