help with economics article? please!!

I have an article due on sunday night. but im struggling to find an article that relates to current economic pros- cons in the welding field. just wondering if anyone has read an article that could be related to this in the last few months if so please share. Otherwise im going to shoot to find an article on local economics in the welding field. miller, AWS, esab and lincoln didnt have anything on their websites that related. Thanks,Ryan
Reply:Pro's of welding..You get great satisfaction in repairing something that someone swears can't be saved..You make $$$$You gather all sorts of friends that need "Favors" every so often because of what you can do..Con's of welding..Could go blind if you "Flash" yourself one too many times..You smell like a welding rod everyday if you stick weld..No problems like that with tig unless you are repairing dirty crap and such..You WILL get burned....All depends on where and how bad..You will think you have your mask on at home at times while watching TV at night...You gather all sorts of friends that need "Favors" every so often because of what you can do..You have no time for your own projects because you are trying to keep all your new friends happy..Your wife is tired of washing your smelly clothes..The list goes on and on.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:The editorial comments on the Welding Journal might help.  There also is a section dealing with industry news as well as commentary on government programs to develop new welding procedures.  There have been massive grants from the U.S. Government to sponsor research and development of new naval ship building practices.  It has been ongoing for maybe something  like ten years now.  Efficient shipbuilding has a strategic importance.
Reply:Ya they are building some of the navy ships half hour from where Im located so I could do it on that kind of thing but thats more of the local economy, I like going above and beyond when doing projects like this because they are an easy grade why do it half A*s you know...
