This question is aimed at people here who have experience with setup of the Airco Dip-Pak 200 machine. I have been using this machine at home and like it very much for mig welding steel with short circuit transfer, but I am wondering about other applications. The machine has a chart with settings, but only for short circuit on steel. So here is my question for those in the know: I want to know if I can use this particular machine for spray transfer on steel, and if I can weld stainless steel at all( I know I would have to change shielding gas with either). If this is possible with my machine, I would need some tips on what settings to use. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me solve my questions.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8
Reply:Since no one seems to have an answer, maybe I should change my question. In short circuit transfer, how would the settings change when switching from mild steel wire to stainless steel? I do not have the fancy new digital readouts on this machine, just a wire feed dial and two dials for voltage.IAMAW Local 330Airco 300 AC/DC HeliwelderAirco Dip-Pak 200 with Profax spool gunPowr-Kraft AC225Everlast PowerArc 200stBuffalo Forge No.21 drill pressSpeedglas 9100xxAirco, Oxweld, Purox, Victor torchesLincoln Ranger 8 |
