I had to weld the end of a vessel on. It's all 7018 on the inside, then it was back gouged and the sub arc welders welded the outter seam.Last week I was welding nozzles, and here is how we left it two weeks ago. I came into work tuesday and they had the head fit on. The vessel walls are 7/8" thick.time to make the blue light! These are the first and second fill passes. the first was done with 3/16" 7018 at 230 amps. The second was done with 1/4" 7018 at 330 amps. It's all flat rolled, so it's not rocket science!Time to cap! 3/16" rod at 336 amps, 30% arc force. It's a two pass cap, here I was just starting the second pass.I'll try and get some more pictures on monday, they were sub-arcing it on thursday, so I never had the opportunity to take pictures of the cap cleaned up and surrounding area de-spattered! Thanks for looking!
