I was just going to lunch and got a call for an "emergency" welding job.  The mount for a pump was cracked off a hydro seeder.  Off I went.Here is the crackGrind off all the paint and most of the old weldOne pass up each side and four passes across the top.  80 amps, 3/32 Hobart 7018 from Tractor Supply fresh out of the oven.Up on the right sideThe tool and settings.  I burned through the "frame" of the machine and had to turn it down on one of the up passes.   This is the first paying job for this machine.  I ran it on 110 volt.Thanks for lookingDavid Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:That's not going anywhere anymore.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

When I took my Dynasty 200 DX out to the local egg grading station for the first time to do some stainless repairs the guys who works there thought the machine was my lunch box because of the size. They actually thought I was fooling around and one guy would keep looking out the window of the place so I asked him, what are you looking for? He replied "I'm waiting for the welding truck    When I started to set up the Dynasty and weld they couldn't beleave it. Reply:Nice work David. Do you notice any difference in the rod from Tractor supply? The manager at my local LWS told me they sell a lower grade under the same name. That's why it's so cheap. Just curious. "Every choice you make will effect at least one other person"

Reply:Earlier this week a couple of guys mistook my LN25 for one of the small 220 migs. They didn't think it was up to the job. I've been told you can't spray flux core, but if you crank it up high enough you can run with a 3/8 gap between the end of the wire and the puddle. The arc sounds like the arc you get when a transformer blows on the power pole with a high pitched squeal underneath it. The weld is super smooth and very little splatter. No idea on volts or amps as the machine doesn't tell me, but was running 450 ipm on wire speed. Of course I had to explain how I got all that out of that little box, heheh. I get the same thing about my xmt304. What you gonna weld with that little thing. Don't believe me when I tell them it's the modern equivalent of Frankenstein (425 amp Westinghouse) over in the corner. It has wheels and still takes two people to move it around.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
