304 SS Grill

before i say anything, i have to say that this was neither my design, nor my work. a guy at work decided that he wanted a new grill for his campsite, so here we go.so at work, we deal exclusively with SS (304/304L/316/316L) unless it is specifically requested by the engineer to use something else (very unlikely). well, needless to say, we usually have quite a bit laying around. when it is laying around, we can get it at drop/scrap price.what is one of the best qualities of SS? corrosion resistance. that's why it is so nice for a grill. long story short, the entire thing is made from 12 ga 304 SS, 3/4 x 9 Expanded for the grates with 3/8" square keystock for reinforcement, 6" replacement mower wheels, 1/2" 304 SS round solid stock for the axle, and 1" solid aluminum round stock for the handle. there are also some spiffy little shoulder bolts that were used in numerous places. anyway, here's the pics. ask whatever wuations you want.Later,Andy

Reply:its real nice but would look better if you brushed those welds with a stainless brush but it is a very nice grill its on my agenda to build one very similar to itComplete Fabrication Shop specializing in pipe fabrication. Also offering heavy steel fabrication and sheet metal work.
Reply:if it was up to me, i would have passivated them and blasted them clean. since it's not my grill, it wasn't my call. he decided to de-grease it and call it good. these pictures really don't do this grill justice.Later,Andy
