A friend of mine purchased an old Gravely mower that probably predates me by a few years, and promptly smashed the deck. He claims that a gaurd came loose and got into the blade... I'm not buying it.  The side that was smashed got the BFH treatment against a piece of flat plate and was deemed close enough. The gap did not want to close up, so I buttered the sides of the paper thin old steel with 1/16" 6013 DCEN at about 50 amps.  Not quite to pipefitter's standards, but good enough for an old Gravely. When it was close enough to weld together I ran 3/32" 7018 DCEP  around 100 amps. While I was arcin' I fixed a few other cracks. The ski did not get repaired. I asked if he wanted to straighten it, and he said no. Since my fee for the job was only 5# of 3/32" 7018, I did not go further. A few more pics in the next post... Attached Images
