thinking about getting one from a friend for a decent price. any input on this welder, i hear some people love them and some people hate them. seems like nothing fancy, not a lot of heat settings but a hell of a duty cycle. also, i'm getting the tig torch with it and its a scratch settup, can i wire in a foot pedal to this?
Reply:I have a Snap-on 250. I really like my machine. I have had it fo r about 6 years and have had very few problems. Any problem I did have I called the tech line for the welder and it was fixed ASAP. As far as the tig. Mine has the tig option on it also, but I did not get it for mine. The reason being is that a foot pedal could not be installed with it. It is not a varerable amp. machine. It also does not have Hi-freg. with it either. You could wire in a pedal but it would only control the on/off of the toruch, it would not control the heat range. Hope that helps.
Reply:Not that great of a deal if you ask me. I was gonna get one once (new) but then I noticed the lack of Hi freq, a/c etc. so it didn't fit the bill for what I needed it for, and the price, wooh.Millermatic 251Century 180 migSpectrum 625 Syncrowave 250DX |
