a buddy of mine works at a shop and they have one barely used at all that they are selling for 600$. looks like a typical ac/dc hf machine. i never really got into tig welding and see this as an oppurtunity. it has tig and stick capabilities right? is 600 bucks worth it? what source voltage/amp/phase does this machine require, i have 230 volt 60 amp single phase service in my garage, will this be enough? finally, are these reliable machines and are parts readily available in case of component failure? thanks in advance...Last edited by xdeadboox; 02-04-2006 at 04:59 PM.
Reply:Probably. I use a dialarc. I'd give that for it. They run on single phase, and 60 amps will be fine, as long as you dont hit the high end in AC. Reliability is what you are buying. Plug it in and the next thing you know, you will be teaching the grandkids how to weld. $600 is a very fair price.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'. |
