Hi folks. Please forgive me since I'm a novice at this stuff.I just aquired a set of O/A tourches my father had in his shop. They have not been used for ~25 years. It has Marquette regulators that have been on the cylinders and attached to the hoses. My question is, would these need to be rebuilt for any reason since that sat for so long?I do not have a reciept for the tanks....Am I going to get a hard time from the company when I try to exchange them? I know the tanks need to be hydro tested and I'm willing to pay for that. The Ace cylinder is 130 cu/ft and I'm not sure what size the oxy cylinder is because I can't see the stamp (too much paint on it)Last question......Where is a good source online for welding supplies? I need new hoses and a few other things for this setup. Thanks in advance.Bob
Reply:I have bought several items form these guys. They were very helpful.I have no financial connection with them.www.regulatortorchrepair.com
Reply:the regs should be ok and the tanks well just be exchanged for full ones the store will test them if thay need to you will get difernt one when you take them inChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:I brought in 2 tanks that were given to me by my school and they had no receipts, I believe one was due for a hydro. They just exchanged them and there was no charge for the expired tank. A hydro typically runs $25 if I remember correctly. Hydroing the O2 tank is probably easy for them, the acetylene might be more difficult and they might be more likely to charge you for that one. |
