.060 Aluminum Thingies..

Customer came in and asked if we weld Aluminum.."Sure Do" I said.."Well I have some parts I need welded and my usual shop is on vacation..Can I get 12 done this morning?""Why not" I said.."I've even included a sample piece so there will be no questions OK?""Sure thing" I said..Well I think we just got a new customer..Here is his sample done wherever he was going..Here is My piece..Comparison..I think he will be back...060 6061-T6511/16" Red End...045 4043 filler..60 amps tops..Straight Argon..I never use the mix on thin stuff..It gets TOO Hot TOO Fast..I get all the fun jobs.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Do you point and truncate your red tung? X-former or inverter?Do you bow the pieces back, so they will pull straight? Or do you just bend them straight after cooling? Reply:Pretty nice, as usual.For the end of the weld, you 'double-dipped' the filler to fill the ending crater?Just clamped/jigged it square and then weld in one shot, or did you tack both sides a couple places and then weld?Yeah, those 'sample' welds are u-g-l-y.  The scary/bad part is, I think we've all seen worse!
