I know this question might sound basic to some but lets say i'm doing a t-joint in the vertical position. I will always have a crater at the top, back when i was taking welding at school I was always told to run off the plate, but I find when i inspect the t-joint where i ran off still shows sign of a crater.Share some of your crater filling techniques to help a young welder out.
Reply:A couple of small circles then pull off real slow.Stephen
Reply:thanks, I'll try that i use that technique sometimes with the mig
Reply:if your using a mig .....when you get to the end of the weld..stop..hit it again quickstopand do it again(just tap the trigger twice) all before you lift the mask to inspect the weld...zap! |
