is the 50amp more on the maxstar200 justify the difference pricei look for a portable welder that can run well 1/8rod and up i don't need a tigthanks
Reply:As you build your Kingdom of tools to hand to the next generation, 50 extra amps is nice to have in case you need it. Also, if you run the machine with an extention cord, input power spikes/loss may cause arc fluctuations.I'd get the 200STR if you can afford to spend a little more.Make sure there is a payback for the Kingdoms profits and growth
Reply:I've got the miller 150 and a red 200, I lent the 150 to a guy and haven't got it back yet, why you ask. Because I find it comes up a little short when you want it. It's a good machine up to 3" pipe, anything bigger than that and it doesn't cut the mustard.If I was you I'd go for the 200, you'll be pleased you do!Stephen
