I've decided to buy a teflon liner and new drive roll for alum and give alum welding a try. I've read on this forum and others that helium may be a better choice for gas than Argon with the MM175. I still may also go with a spoolmate 3035 and control. I've also thought about selling my MM175 ( which is only six months old) and get myself a MM210 which is spoolgun ready.Would you guys go with the helium or argon?ThanksJohn
Reply:It all depends on your application, argon is fine, helium will give better penetration and because helium is lighter you will use more which will put a nice whole in your pocket, typicaly helium costs a lot more than argon.I like using a 75% Ar/25% He mix, it does me a lot better than straight Ar.Good Luck! |
