Reply:3g is a vertical weld up or downChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:chopper5, where have you welded vertical down, on 3G, with ASME standards? API standards let you use vertical down on pipe. All 3G plate test are vertical up. Especially with Flux-core.If it's HOT, Don't touch it
Reply:it,s vert up for me if you can pass vert down you can do it now but i took my test vert up anyway's i think now there looking for sound welds and not so much how you get them but if you pass vert up then you weld vert up on 3g and any weld you make has to be made with in the range of your test if you need to run hotter or change type of gas then you need to test for thatLast edited by chopper5; 05-13-2006 at 05:02 AM.ChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder |
