Reply:Great idea! A velcro strap could be added to secure the grinder to the bracket too, if necessary.I am compelled to ask two questions: Are you going to use those tungstens to weld that log to the plywood? For what purpose in a welding shop do you use the wooden meat tenderizer (visible in picture 2)?-MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:Ray hows it goin? that tenderizer handle broke off 10 or 20 years ago and i havent gotten around to fixing it yet.I anticipated that the grinder might need a strap but when i started using it there was no problem as it was. the piece of pipe i used for the cradle has been massaged a bit with a large c clamp to be almost tight around the grinder, nothins going anywhere. that log is a piece of cherry thats been drying for a few years, need to make some holes in it for an herbburner..
Reply:That grinder holder is GREAT idea! I just could not resist the jab about wood parts on the bench. I will try to put together some sort of photo collection in the next few weeks so you can see what I have been doing.Member, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:I like the concept. I'd like to make one that would clamp on with holes for the bed of the lathe. |
