any designs for weed eater tower for trailer??

Hey guys. I have had a side business, doing occansional fab/repair jobs for years. Recently been down sized due to plant closure. I'm attempting to grow my welding/fab business large enough to provide a living for family and my self. While working on a structural job in my shop(garage), my mail man stoped and asked could I fab/ install a three tear locking weed eater tower(rack) on a landscape trailer, he apparently owns a landscape business. I have looked at many such racks but all seem poorly designed. I have drafted a few different design ideas, but having seen some of the impressive projects on this site, was wondering if anyone had created or had awareness of something unique pertaining to for mentioned rack. Reply:yes did the exact same thing a couple years ago what I did was copy almost exactly a hitch bike rack 3/8 round bar same tighten settup just made 2 mounts side by side worked very well. (clamps on the weedeater shaft as it does on the bike frame. used rubber tool dip from hardware to coat ware it clamps the shaft but have sen garden hose on the same settup.

Reply:Keep it simple.  Do a clean job.  Make a profit.  If you are starting a business, then you want to make money and there isn't much margin in those for what one could purchase ready towers.  You would be hating it, if you gave him a product at a low price or intricate/difficult to duplicate design, then he sent you all his friends expecting the same price.  Improve one of those poor designs, but keep it simple.If you are welding the towers onto the trailer then attach them at multiple points.  All the vibration and leverage breaks weld easily.  Also, make sure you get the correct length of his weeders if you do one piece towers.

Reply:I built one on the front of a trailer once and used horse shoes for the cradles for the weed whackers. It looked like crap but that's what the guy wanted. I think his business name was Cowboy's Lawn Care or something like that.
