Reply:Hello folks. I'm a hobby welder. I've been welding a couple of years. I've built an 18 foot trailer for hauling my tractor, a PTO powered wood splitter, and bunch of smaller stuff around the house. My welding equipment - MillerMatic 251Miller 180SDLincoln SP125+and an old Sears 30-295 amp AC buzzbox, as well as an assortment of various tools needed when welding. I recently picked up a HF bender and am having fun bending and scrolling. I've also got an early 1950's Sheldon 13x36 toolroom lathe, and a late 50's, early 60's Craftsman(Atlas) 12x36 lathe, both with a bunch of attachments. I'm looking for a milling machine, preferably a Bridgeport. I'm just learning this machining stuff. My Dad is a retired tool maker, and I want to learn as much as I can from him while he is still able to teach me. Corm
Reply:This is my first post. I have a shop and have made many parts from Harley stuff to welding furniture to rebuilding jet boat pumps. Here are a couple of pics when the shop was clean and new..hehehe. The list includes HTP 220v/240 MIg, micro cut plasma cutter, Bpt Mill, Southbend lathe, JD2 tubing bender, chop saw, large band saw. A ton of other stuff as well. That is all for now. I want to get a TIG soon.  T.J.www.tjsperformance.comHere is a shot of the shop. Note this is when I was moving in. Here is the workbench I made. Engine run in stand for BBC and SBC's. Some Harley parts I made. Fabbed a larger turbo shield. Yes this customer is running a turbo.Last edited by TJS; 12-12-2003 at 02:47 AM.

Reply:The highlights of my collection are a Miller 210 w/spool gun, a Lincoln SW 175, and a Miller spectrum 625 plasma.  Also have a full hydro powered JD^2 Model three tubing bender, and a fairly decent amount of other misc hand and power tools. My want list is a CNC plasma table, a Bridgeport, and a  decent 13" lathe.  Oh yeah...  and a MUCH larger place to store and use them.  my 24 x 24 garage is over stuffed! I started out in the welding world cold turkey with a Miller 130, and taught myself how to do it.  stepped up to an Airco dip/stick 160 w/ frequency box that I picked up for free because the owner was afraid of the cord being frayed at the plug (1 pair of side-cutters and a new plug later...)  Sold both these welders and bought the 210.  Love it.  bought the 625 after not being happy with my hypertherm Pmax 350 (great machine, under sized for my needs).  Bought the 175 when I stumbled into a deal at my welding supplier.  got a LOT to learn.  I've decided when I quit learning something, I have probably quit breathing....
