ok...in machines and cutting etc. forum there is a thread about "who has the best welder"thats a loaded question because the best machine in the wrong hands = no good results...the question should be ...ahem..Who Can Do The Best With What They Have?...so whatcha got and what have you done with it?i'll post pics when the "new" hobart is running...everything i did in the past dont count..just to make it fair ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:sounds like a great idea bud...I'll be backIF it Catches...Let it Burn
Reply:Is this just tig??? Or do we get bonus points for using archaic little machines that THINK they are big welders?
Reply:Sounds like a winner, Zap. But, I am guessing that this is not a straight-up welding competition like the stick and mig comp threads. This is just a "what can you do with what you got" kinda thing...Right?...sorta like, a fellow might have an ac225, but used it to build a brinks armored car.Speaking of skill, I saw something the other day on ebay that almost made me laugh outloud.http://cgi.ebay.com/Wood-burning-sto...QQcmdZViewItemAlthough I am sure this thing was done VERY well, but talk about overkill on skill.Last edited by smithboy; 07-16-2006 at 11:39 AM.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:this is NOT a welding contest by any means...just show the beads and the machine..tell the settings...lets see welds from fluxcore to gas mig to tig to stick..hell all i'm using now is a lincoln "idealarc" made in the early '60'sstick stick stick stick stick..i'm stuck but not for long...the gas mixer got shipped last wed. ... maybe this should be a "stickey" thread..i dunno ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
