Does anyone know how long it takes for a ticket to expire? I got a 1g and 2g cert at the beginning of feb. and i was wondering if they are still valid?-Thanks!
Reply:I think you can Google for Canadian Welding Bureau and find the answers. There is more than one answer. My ticket I hold as a member of the Ironworker Union is good for two years. If I had taken the test and work for myself I think it is good for something like 90 days but don't quote me on that.Hope that helps Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:It is good for 2 years. Working steady with your CWB certified Company, then you re-certified, but you dont have to do the complete testing.
Reply:I am not working at the moment and i have not been since i got the certs, so i assume that it would be 90 days?

Reply:YupThe first time you do it, all 4 positions is a 2 yr ticket. Stay current and up to date and you only have to do 2 positions (virtical and overhead) to recertify.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:AFAIK - As long as you work out of a CWB shop (my Union qualifies) the ticket is good for two years. If you test as a private individual your ticket is not for two years. Think it is for 90 days in that case.CWB site has the info first hand.My check-test that I just got my results from x-ray for -- position FG3&4Root filet with one stop & start is vertical up. Root groove is overhead with one start and stop. Rest is overhead for the fill and all the way out to (and including) the cap on the same test plate.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." |
