Wasnt sure how to word that ..  The question is .. How to you make a long TIG bead .. I mean .. you have to run outta filler at some point. Or accidently contaminate thetungsten. For what ever reason , you have to stop the bead you were working and its not finished and you have to pick up on it whereyou left off ..  Whats the best way to do that ? I mean it may seem likea stupid question, but if welding over weld is not good .. then you do haveto do that it would seem for the start of that continuation bead ??? Is this question making sense?  Maybe heat up and create a weld pool just after the end of the last one and back into it ? or what?? RandyTIA
Reply:The only way I know of is to use a cold wire feeder, but I am not sure if that's too critical in most applications.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.

Reply:if you need to run a bead..say 60" long..position more clean wire where you can grab it without looking and when you start to get hot under the fingernails drop that piece and pickup another and continue..its easy once you've done it a few times and the torch never gets shut off from a to b......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:can't say much more than what zap said
Reply:lets say your tigging a aluminum tube..20" dia to a flange...and the print calls for a continious weld...once you start theres no shutting it off untill the weld is complete..aint no way 1 piece of filler is gonna make it...so thats the solution..have it ready..never lift your mask or your foot and weld away..heck..i could weld a mile without stopping...but the cables would be too short... ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Zap's right, no need to stop....in fact even if you have to "screw around" for a couple of seconds picking up a fresh rod you can easily back down on the current and just keep a happy puddle goin'....waiting on the rod...
Reply:Well said Zap, any other questions? I'd rather be hunting........USE ENOUGH HEAT.......Drifting around Aussie welding more pipe up, for something different.....wanting to get home.
