Well, after years of putting up with the old "Silver Beauty 175" Italian built mig welder with a 30% duty cycle at a decent amperage I finally have a nice mig welder!  No more pulling the covers off and sticking box fans on the side of the machine!  No more welding for 5 minutes and sticking the end of the wire in the puddle when the machine thermally cuts out!I now have a Miller XMT 300 CC/CV inverter power supply and a Miller S52 feeder with a Tweco 400 amp gun set up.  I still need to build a cart for it, but it is just so nice to have it up and running.  And, I'd have to say that this thing welds better than any other mig welder I've used - which is mostly Millermatic 200's, 250's, 251's, serveral Deltaweld 450's and 600's with separate feeders, and even an Esab MigMaster or whatever it was on monster garage.  The inductance adjustment is pretty slick - never had it before but it makes a wide difference in the way it welds.
Reply:Inverters are cool.  I have a similar rig, which is a Powcon 400SM and an S64 feeder and I love it.  The only thing I can really say is that you should get to work on the cart soon, otherwise you'll end up dragging it around and hooking everything up every time you use it, which is annoying.  Once you do really start using it, there'll never be enough time to build a cart.  Atleast, that's been my experience.-Heath
