Reply:Stormin Norm Beechey used to bring one of those over from Aussie to race in the big banger class here in  the late 60s, early 70s, against Mustangs, Camaros a Fairlane, Victor Victorious, a UK GM car fitted with a US V8.Best place to be with a Taurus is inside, because then you can't see what it looks like. The wagon is the best looking version.Glass packs on small fours and rotaries are the vogue here too. Although, a lot of thm have restored some mid seventies Corollas and Mazdas and Datsuns, they must spend a fortune on them with some even with leather trim. Then on top of that there's all the bling bling factor.Nothing wrong with 4 bangers, nothing like the sound of a BDA at full noise in a forest at dawn and the raucous popping and backfiring of a rotary in hot pursuit. Reply:1.50? Heck, middle of the line drag radial cars are pulling 1.2X shorts on street tires!Do those cars weigh the short side of 4000 pounds? That's my point. Any car is fast (quick) when it weighs nothing. And we are talking a full bodied stock trim Chevelle here.
