I have an old Hobart Mega-Arc 300A portable, w/Perkins diesel. I'd like to pump up the juice for gouging and have been considering piggy-backing a Zena generator, running in parallel with a separate circuit switch. I've talked with the owner of Zena, but am looking for a few less biased opinions.ThanksMike
Reply:i built a stand alone welding machine from anthony blazina(zena). its a 200a machine, running off of an 16 hp b&s. i am very satisfied with it. imho i think it welds incredibley well. both stick and tig. i think it welds better than most electric machines ive run. BUT if i remember correctly he doesnt reccomend his machines for gouging or air arc. i dont know why, but i never inquired because i dont use any of that. if you have any doubts he has a 3 mo. no ?s asked return policy. and you will NEVER find a person more helpful or willing to bend over and do flips for you. anthony is unbelievable. he built a one off board for me, because i wanted my machine to do a few different things. and he got it done. his kits are very well put together with good instructions and exellent quality and pride. any other ?s you can pm me oits or hit me at [email protected] |
