These are some radiator grill gaurds that I manufacture for several dealers. Generally, they are of 'Universal" fit. Each one comes with a weight bracket and weldable extensions or legs that mount to the tractor. This is one that was mounted on a tractor today. The weight bracket had to be removed by the mechanic before the dealer delivered the tractor because the customer didn't want it. If I have figured right, I have built close to 100 of these. These are much heavier than the standard factory types. Additionally, not all of the gaurds have the expanded metal. These were added to this batch at the dealers request. Reply:Lugweld,Are you using that SA-200 in production now? Nice work on the guards. They do look much better then most of the factory stuff for the small tractors.TimA rich man is not the one who has the most but instead one who needs theleast. Reply:Good looking guards. I've been thinking of building something along that line for my Kubota. I would like to add an easily removable screen about the size mesh of screen wire to catch a lot of the fine crap that collects when I'm brush hogging the pasture. I have to stop about every hour and clean off the grill in front of the radiator and the screen under the hood. About every two hours I have to drive to the house and blow the fine trash out of the radiator. I6t's a pain in the butt.
Reply:A screen too fine can be aggravating as well. This expanded metal has 3/4 inch holes. It generally works well for bushhogging. But if you are in a lot of fine stuff, you may want to put some fine screen wire over it. But cooling may be reduced.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Very nice and simple design.Yep oldtimer your right about the dust on the radiator. On my Ford New Holland 345D you have huge 3/8" thick grill to remove 1st. Then you have to remove transmission/hyraulic cooler ( or like me just move it carefully out of the way). Its hell getting to both the front and rear of the radiator to clean it. Of course cleaning the air cleaner filters and then resetting the sensor is no piece of cake either.I have tried a fine screen to help cover and keep the dust away but you have to constantly take it off and clean it, so I just did away with the screen.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.& 2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.
Reply:great job any pics on how you mount them
Reply:Ed,Sorry,This one was actually welded by the dealer to the front removable weight bracket. I make provisions for the dealer to bolt on the bracket. But each tractor and case is different. I usually provide legs and a rear cross bracket that will allow the dealer to drill the holes to match the tractor that it will be mounted on. In one of the pics, you can see the legs laying on the floor unused. They weld to the back of the bracket.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
