question about co2 bottles

If I got my hands on a co2 bottle such as an 80 cf co2 bottle commonly used for fountain drink machines, does any one know if I take a bottle like this to Wesco if they will swap it out for a bottle filled with argon, and of course me pay the refilling fee. Has any one tried to do this
Reply:my father in law gat a co2 tank at an auction for $5.  i have asked at tractor supply and airgas if i could swap the tank and they were both a no go.

Reply:Make friends with someone that owns/runs a restaurant or a store that uses those CO2 bottles. They only pay a bottle deposit on them not for the CO2. I still have one full & one empty. You of course won't be able to get Argon (only CO2)I had 5-6 of those full bottles and let my cousin have them for her restaurant when she ran out on a holiday...bad move on my part she stiffed me for them and $600 she owed me for restaurant equipment. (we don't speak anymore)The LWS can do as they please and have been known to accomodate good regular customers for such things...Joe Blow off the street might be a different thing
