This is the first set of gates I made for a customer, 4 mtr span made from 40mm x 80mm box section with 80mm sq tabs for the mahogany infill panels, remote control hydraulic openers/closers, turned out well i think? the customer was happy anyway.Any thoughts/critisism most welcome, hope you like. Reply:here's another set I did in 50 x 50mm box, the guy wanted these as cheap as possible so this time I used decking timber for the infill panels. I used a local firm to roll the arch for me cost next to nothing really, they've got machinery to bend just about anything you can imagine it's very impressive Attached Images

Reply:Nice looking gates. I can translate mm's to inches, I just don't want to.
Reply:sorry didn't think metric and imperial conversions would be a problem thats why i didn't convert, I figured everyone would know what i meant, sorry again next time i'll convert before i post.
Reply:Nice looking gates.   I would not worry about converting metric to imperial.  It's a simple matter to convert if one need to.

Reply:Did you do anything to allow for expansion/contraction of the mahogany panels? A lap joint maybe? I'd hate to see gaps or buckling on those pretty gates.I don't know how you guys even build things out of millimeters. You need so dang many of 'em.
