Reply:Sounds like contamination to me. but....A little more info about what your welding, what gas and tungsten type and size your using, along with what filler material you are using might help.Any pics?- Paulhttp://all-a-cart.comWelding Cart Kits and accessories

Reply:the first pic...the weld in front? looks good to me.. the ones in the rear?just some contamination..clean is not good enough when it comes to tig..acetone is your friend..just dont leave it anywhere near the welder..or table..unless you want to remodel the shop.. i'm gonna have another tig class in mass soon...you cant be that far away..i'll post the date later.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:hay zapster i just wanted to know more about the acetone your talking about how do you use it in your shop? also i am very interested in going to your class how long is your class?thank you Jason
Reply:Acetone is nasty stuff...Do not leave it near the bench or machine... I get it by the 1/2 gallon..any hardware store has it..but i put what i want to use in a coffee can with a plastic lid and take it from there...the rest goes in the bottom of my toolbox where nobody can get to it.. clean your parts with a clean rag and let air dry...about 30 sec..then do your thing...the class is about 4-5 hrs..but worth it.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:thanks zapster id love to attend :-) will i get a hands on try :-) ?also do you use the acetone on all your metals before tiging it?i got some cleaner for aluminum but don't weld aluminum yet :-)thanksJason
Reply:Zapster`s right about the acetone I`ve been welding stainless for 16yrs. this is one trick used to clean but I belive in cleaning good before welding for puddle control and uniformity. Also new to the site man I love the info. located here.Chris"FILL`N THE CRACK OF DAWN TO A BROKEN HEART" |
