Well I made a work bench, storage rack, grinder stand, saw stand, a few mitre jigs, and the missus keeps asking, "When are you going to make something ? "Well, it was time to put my newly aquired skills to the test and make her something.First 'Real' project, a Coffee Table.I took photos of the welds and all the construction phase, but somehow had the wrong setting on the camera and they all turned out very blurry.I call it my mistake table, because it's where I made a lot of learning mistakes. Just small errors that I have learned from and will make the next table easier and better. The mistakes on this one I can live with and the main thing is Mrs 'eyspy' loves it.It's made out of 40 mm box tube, with the legs set back from the corners about 5 mm. The top is made out of some malaysian hardwood decking (Kapur I think ?). Pressure pack painted and polyurethane finish on the timber. My next table I am going to do similar, but instead of a timber top I am going to put 2 500 x 500 limestone pavers in instead. What do you think ?  Good enough to grace your lounge room ?
Reply:That looks really good.  Think it'd go pretty good in any home"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:That looks pretty nice.  I would like to add more wood to my projects, but I'm not any good with it.  One of these days...Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:Joker11  ...... you got any kids ?   A crap catcher is what a nappie is  **LOL**  Maybe it's spelt Nappy ??Bruce. The steel cost me about $30 (Australian $$ or about $18 US $$), the timber about $25 Aust $$All up it would have taken about 2 hours construction time, which because I was learning and thinking at the same time, I could reduce down to about an hour when I get better.Something in a store over here like my table would cost about $250 , so I could easily make some good profit on these items.
