Here is a simple rail I made for a local customer.  I used weld-on 90's, fabbed up the cap so it will just slip on, tapped out some plate for the top connection (used a hougan type bit to cutout the plug) and powdercoated it.I was going to use just red's to anchor the bottom in, but I was worried about the stones just cracking out, so I used a two-part epoxy with the bolts.  So hopefully they wont have any issues down the road.  The rail took me somewhere around 4 hours, and install was about 45 minutes(digging the hole, drilling and mounting) Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:For a little over 13 feet, it worked out to around 740 bucks from start to finish.It was a pretty tight bid.  I normally charge 1 hour per fitting.  By the time you fit, weld, clean and blend it out, it usually works out to one hour, on average.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:Nice job.  Looks simple, but I know it would take me longer than 4 hours.Wouldn't it be nice if welds were pretty enough that it didn't require, or you didn't want to "blend" them out.Maybe your welds were, I'm not saying that, but I know it tough to get precise fit-up, much less have the skill required to make "pretty" welds on something like this.I don't have the skill, but given the orbital welder and some practice parts, the machine could do it for me.Thanks for the photos.
