My Ultimate Welding Bed

Here is a file I have been working on this week.  The deminsions are, of course, from MY SWB truck.  I would appreciate comments.  I'm sure there is something I am forgetting.Notes:1) The 4x6 cut outs in the rear and top light bar are for 4x6 work lights.2) The square holes in the diagonal sections in the rear are receiver holes.  I will have things like a grinder, or vise, or other bench top tools mounted on a receiver that will slide into the holes.3)  If you have Sketch Up and would like this file to play with, send me a PM and I will forward it to you. Reply:Looks like a great project. Only thing I see you're lacking is the angle on the back of the bed used to roll pipe as you're working it. Of course you don't may not need it. Looks good to me.I have SketchUp 7, but can't make it work lke this for me. Reply:Looks really nice. I can tell that you have spent alot of time considering different options. One thing that I can think of is a cut out or drop down for your machine to set in. Just a thought.My first love was a wicked twisted road.......
Reply:I would countersink the tail lights.  If you use a torch off the back of your bed it won't burn up your lights.  I would also angle the headache rack in to follow the cab lines closer.  The drawings look great."I'd rather be careful a hundred times as killed once"

Reply:I would also sink the Oxy/Acy tanks low in to the bed so I didnt break my back when its time to refill.Maybe they are, I cant tell.

Reply:Nice bed.  How much do you expect it to weigh by itself?
Reply:I don't know.  I doubt I will build it as pictures the first time.  Might just build the bed and the skirt, then add the other cabinets as time permits.  The last bed I built actually weighed less than the stock bed I took off!
