Front ATV Cargo Box

My first welding job...I built this box because I needed more cargo room on my four wheeler. I wanted something water proof and rugged. On the internet they were well over $200. I didn't really want extra lights, but after the box was an inch to high, it covered my handle bar light. So now this box can be submerged a few feet and no water gets in. Water seal, water proof lights, and painted with truck bed liners spray paint.If I could do it again...I would make it all out of sheet metal or aluminum, using my 16 gauge break. I would not make a frame out of quarter inch square at all. Also, I would not prime it, or at least use the primer I used. I would also never use BONDO again to cover the curves. I would do a much better job with the silicone as well. I would also make the lights internally inside of the box. I would also make it a lot cleaner on the inside.Pros:The box comes off and on in less then 8 seconds due to those little wing nut nob "thingies".Could add a rifle mount, cooler, bad, on the diamond plate.Strong enough to stand on.Light switches are water proof, and an extra switch for any additions.Removable power supply.Box is 3.5 inches in the rear 5.5 in the front which allow the top to be flat.LockableCons:The paint; I wish I new more about painting. I would have preferred to use some kind of ceramic paint, and would have like to get into powder coating the surface.The silicone could have and should be nicer. The sheet metal is wavy due to the way I welded it on.Conclusion: I am going to completely re design and create my next cargo box. I would like to make it out of aluminum. Internal lights, and waterproof. The paint is the real question. Any ideas?

Reply:Good job, I have an old military metal rocket box I put on mine, Has a watertight lid and secure latches, w/ grab handle on each end. No lights, my headlite is under the rack. I just fasten it down w/ a rubber snubber thru each handle. Reply:try driving at night, you might get a lot of reflection or glare from your headlight.  Other than that it looks good for rev 1!
Reply:Lookin good!!!    you just gotta nit pic it to death don't ya I do too don't we all ,  thats what design and redesign is all about trial and error right.
