4 wheeler rack

Here's a rack I started last fall but I'm finally putting the finishing touches on it this week.  This is for my wife's 4 wheeler, a 97 Polaris 250.  She's in charge of beverages and other miscellaneous items when we go riding so I make sure she never gets too far behind!Pic 1 - rack in progressPic 2 - workbench and welder - Lincoln Pro-core 100 I bought last year.  I sold my AC-DC 225 machine for home use to get this one.  I've got a Lincoln AC 225 unit at another location for bigger jobs I don't want to do in my garage.Pic 3 - my toolbox from my mechanic days.  Unfortunately it looks like more stuff is piled on top of it than what's in it.  I've said for years I'm going to build an angled top for it that won't hold anything - that way I have to put it up when I'm done with it!Pic 4 - another shot of the 4 wheeler rackPic 5 - close-up shot of a bead on the rack. Reply:Here's my finished product - well almost.  I've got a few pieces of slag to know down and some minor sanding before I paint it.Here it is -  Side view - I'm a firm believer a person can never have enough tie down points.  I like to use chain links for putting bungee cords and motorcycle straps through.  A close up shot of one of my weldsHere's the Tamarack bag I usually keep on this 4 wheeler.  This is the second bag I've tried, only this is a different brand.This one is really well made and easy to get in & out of.  The lids have magnetic strips sewn in them so they close tight, no zippers to get plugged with mud and sand.  I used some 1/2" EMT conduit inside the main rails for the straps to go around. I thought the round conduit would keep from cutting the strap, plus the buckles are now inside the main rail and less likey to get caught on a tree or hit by another 4 wheeler.

Reply:Looks plenty good. I like tie downs too. The problem with store bought racks is no matter where you hook a bunji it slides to where you don't want it. They should make the frames out of chain links ..
