Reply:Keep losing my connectionDoes the guy have some kind of quick attach 3pt, or something where the top of the lift eyes open.  Everything I got has a solid eye that a pin has to fit thru"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:I think it's the glare of the lights/open door hiding the holes.  First pic looks like he may have pins for a quictach 3 pointMarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:I really like the casters on it.  Would make hooking up a little more easy (though that does looks built for a quick attach.)  Still would make moving it out of the shop easy though.OLD miller M-295  (AC)Century 230/140 ac/dcVictor torchNot much else but some cheap tools.
Reply:Mark, the slotted holes were cut out on a plasma, 5/8"x 4" slot with 3/16" gap inbetween.I had to get creative , because I didn't have any expanded metal and the boss said to have it ready before I left.Sam, its made to hook up to a quick hitch (that's what we call them down here) on the tractor. Makes it easier when your by yourself. I'll try to get a picture of it when he brings it back to the shop. Every tractor should have one. Makes it safer when hooking up implements. Rowdius, I put casters on it because his tractor doesn't fit in the shed he's storing it in.I made a small trailer for a second generator and I have pictures that I'll post later:

Reply:I like the long hitch.  Makes it easier to back up.  Little stubby ones have you jacknifed in a heartbeat"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:yes, it is a little long, but i made it long so he wouldn't have a short drive shaft. i didn't know if there would be more vibration if it was short. he's going to need a 42" shaft.
Reply:I don't think it's a bit long, like I said better to manuever it.I've never looked at how long my pto shafts are.  Most are pretty short, but most of my stuff is pretty close hitched, and I gotta swinging draw bar for real tight turns on headlands.  It's a totally different applicationThe fertilizer spreader from COOP has a really long shaft, and it seems vibration free.  540 rpm is pretty tolerant.I broke the pto shaft on my brush hog, and did a sloppy fast job welding it up.  Looks like a banana.  Can't tell the difference.  The u joints take up a lot of the difference.  Been a lot of hours on it since the sloppo fix and seems to keep on goin'.  Haven't had any trouble with the tractor pto output shaft either.  This stuff is pretty forgiving.  I don't know about the 1000rpm pto's though.Last edited by farmersamm; 05-11-2009 at 08:49 PM.Reason: forgot "a""Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:i'm workin on a gofl cart rack now, or for the last couple months, i like to take my time.  i'm takin sort of a different approach though, mine's got 3 mounting points onto the body, and 4 bolts.  mine's not as pretty but probably more durable, it'll end up weighin about 15-20lbs.
Reply:Did you freehand those cutouts on the plasma? Its hard to tell if it was cnc or done by some other means.
Reply:Hello Yellow,no i didn't freehand. We have a big plasma that will hold a 6'x15' plate. It's suppose to be able to cut up to 3/4" thick, but we have only cut up to 1/2".  I had the draftsman draw it up in CAD and then put the sheet of 10ga on the plasma and start cutting. This plasma saves us alot of time. One of the best investments they ever made.
