I know this question has been asked before but I just need a quick answer because I read the answer before but I can't find it right now.I have a Miller HF-251 and I was wondering if I run it on a non Miller welder without the 14-pin connection what controls I lose.  Can I still run a petal?  What fetures on the HF-251 do not work when setup this way?Sorry to ask a probably beat up old question.
Reply:Hmm, no body has done it looks like.  I thought Pulser had done something like that with a Esab HF unit.  It sounded fairly involved though.  Ive never even seen one up close, so cant help.  You do probably need a pin out of the connections though.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.
Reply:I have seen one hooked to a Lincoln shop machine, but I don't recall how they did it.  Give me a few days and I can ask the guy and let ya know.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I know they hook up just fine with the standard leads but when you don't have the 14-pin connection you lose one feature.  I think it is control from the high freq box.  I think you just have to set the amps from the main power source and then you can use the foot pedal but you just can't control amps from the high freq box.  I don't remember though.  I have the HF-251 and a power source but no electrical leads so I haven't actually tried it.
