Reply:304 is fine to eat off, but 3/8 round bar will get pretty pricey pretty quick. id suggest you go with stainless mesh or stainless expanded metal. mcmaster carr has it and so does mcnichols (www.mcmaster.com and www.mcnichols.com)
Reply:hi not hijackin but i recently made an extra grill shelf for my kitchen oven,, used 3/8 ms round bar because its for holding pots, not grilling meat..bent the frame with my hf bender and stuck it together with 7018..paid about $1.50 a foot at tractor supply for the bar. Attached Images
