A Table...But Hey It's Not a WELDING Table!!!!!

For a change of pace, a different kind of table.  The top is fossilized limestone from Morocco.  Built it to put in my office at work.  Here's a few photos of the process. STANDY BY FOR SERIES 2

Reply:Wb4rt--the tubing is 1" X 1 1/2", 11 Gauge.  My local steel yard had a great deal on a bunch of this about two years ago before steel prices went crazy expensive.  I am now kicking myself for not buying more, I must have gone through 300 feet of it on various projects.  Makes great stands and other stuff where 1X1 is a bit too small.   vandacoot--I will paint the stand black and will probably use some silicone adhesive a few dabs on the frame ought to do it.  The stone is fairly heavy and it won't get people sitting at it or really using the top.JC--I cheated, my pipe cutting ability look like a toothless hillbilly did the job.  I used a plasma to whack off the piece, then threw it on the lathe and turned it smooth. To all you other fine gents thanks for the fine words, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.  Hope it provides ideas for others, God knows I have gotten my fair share off this site.  Thanks.Last edited by 200mphbusa; 06-01-2009 at 09:31 PM.
