Buying a secondhand machine

I'm curious to know if there are any classified websites dedicated solely for welders and/or machining equipment.  I just don't have the $$$ to buy what I want brand new, and I live in a pretty rural area, so the chances of anyone selling a decent, used, machine here, is fairly low.  Any suggestions?
Reply:Craigslist or the local classified paper is your best bet.   ebay too but you will want to look for one that can be shipped.    UPS can ship 140lb or less and Fedex is 70 lb or lessWhat it your budget, what type of welding are you looking to do and metal type and thickness.   the buy sell section here also has some good deals,  I have sold a couple items through the forum and several welders via ebay.... If you post what you are looking for you may find a member here that is close and has what u want or knows someone that does...There is always the site sponsors.  Everlast, Longevity.   shipping is usually pretty reasonable and you get 5 years of warranty..   I just finished reviewing the Everlast 140ST over in their Forum.   Turned out to be a pretty good little unit for the price.. Reply:If you haven't tried a CL aggregator like Crazedlist or Searchtempest, I'd suggest you try it. I use Searchtempest and use " welder" as my primary seach and then sort the list by hand from there for what I'm interested in. You can set the range you want to go as well. Usually I use 250 miles, but seldom range much past 50 or so unless I'm looking for something specific right now..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks for everyone's replies...as I said I live in a pretty remote area, CL is useless.  You don't find anything much more advanced than a batter and a couple cables lol.  I was hoping there was an area here on this forum, I just couldn't find it right off the bat, and between working 25 hours a week, school 20 hours a week, a 2 year old, two dogs, and 29 rabbits...I'm just a little on the busy side! I'm going to see what I can find on this site though, thanks again!

Reply:I see a few listed on CL using Searchtempest and the zip 59901.http://www.searchtempest.com/results...min&maxAsk=max  Theres an SA 200 listed local for $1000.  Also an old listing still up from the end of Aug for linde heliarc welder HF 250 - $650, Might be worth a call, often I find guys who still have old ads up willing to deal to move them if you call and ask. I see a number of older listings on the other farther away CL's below as well. Again it might pay to give someone a jingle and see if they still have it and what they want, if it's the machine you are looking for.There's a MM135 listed for $400 from the 28th of Sept. in Missoula. (About 90 miles) Also listed is an older (Sept 23) one for a Miller "115v wire welder" for $400. I can't see the model from the pict, but it's one of the larger 115v units so I'm thining it might be a MM35 possibly.And a bunch of nice options listed today on the 3rd listing of montana,,, a Syncro 180 for $1275 ( a bit high, offer $1000 settle for $1100 maybe), An old stick machine for $100 in twin bridges, and a MM250 with cyl for $2000 in Anaconda. Reply:Where you are in a rural area, have you put an ad in paper saying you are looking for a welder.  Lots around here will respond, might be a few gems included in the coal.
