Can anyone tell me the difference in these two MIG welders? There is a big price difference...HomeDepot's Lincoln 175HDMSC's SP175Thanks in advance.
Reply:The HOME Depot one has taps, 130 amp 20v 20% duty cycle. The other one has continuous voltatge select, and 30% duty cycle at the same rating.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I am almost positive that the SP-175 is in fact different than a Weld-pak.I don't remember what the differences are exactly, look at Lincoln's website. The SP-175 is a better wire feeder.Plus, as pointed out recently on this board the home depot version of Lincoln welders are made out of the country and in my opinion cannot be trusted to have the same standards of quality as the USA built ones.Cheers.
Reply:Lincoln's web site did not have any info on the Weld-pak, that I could find.

Reply:Thanks David.
Reply:The SP 175 plus has continuously variable amperage control as mentioned above by David R. They are no longer made, having been disccontinued when Lincoln brought out the 180 model that takes a Magnum spool gun.Miller Millermatic 252Miller Syncrowave 200Liincoln AC-DC 225Victor O-A Set
Reply:All I will add is if you are considering the machine from MSC go to the local welding supplier. You can get a Powermig 215 for VERY close to that....I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:How does this Hobart 187 compare to the machines above?
