Reply:Awesome work..Q- were can i buy the alum mufflers..Doug
Reply:So I see a mix of mandrel bends and pieces cut out of (what im assuming are) pre bent 90's.  Do you do your own bends, or buy pieces?I do custom exhaust work as well, mostly jeeps with diesel or V8 conversions.  Ive always used prebent stuff, but since we've got a mandrel bender ive been waiting to try it out.I can see how difficult it is to fit some of those, looks very clean.Have we all gone mad?

Reply:you have an artistic touch with the exhaust.  i am always fascinated by the level of skill men hid from people's attention.  too many folks want to only do the good stuff when it is going to be seen.can you elaborate on the two sensors?  i noticed i didn't see any cats on newer models.Last edited by Scott Young; 07-06-2009 at 09:39 AM.
Reply:Sure. The sensors are for the Innovative software he uses. One for the software, one for the dyno tuning. They are wideband oxygen sensors for adjusting and monitoring A/F ratio.
Reply:Beautiful work, it's a shame it's under the car and not able to be seen, my compliments.....Mike

Reply:I'm speachless... If I could weld like that I would be RICH! Nice X-pipes. Do you have a jig to hold them or do you just tack and go?
Reply:this is some serious exhaust systems.... Please tell us about your processes...Adam MMorales Ranch
Reply:stupid questions but have you built any road racing cars with aluminum exhausts?I always thought that aluminum wouldn't be able to take the continuous heat.  I always assumed this was why they made everything out of steel or titanium.  The weight savings would be tremendous.great work btw.
Reply:You are the "pipes god". Jesse James don't have sh8888t on you. Please give some info on your process.Miller TrailBlazer 251Miller HF-250-1Miller MaxStar 150 STLHyperTherm PowerMax 380 plasmaLincoln PowerMig 180Millermatic 252Miller Diversion 180
Reply:Saw you post on HT, stuff looks really good man.
Reply:Thanks guys. The x-pipes are hand-made and welded. No jigs yet, been thinking about it though. Been so busy, no time to breathe.Just a quick blurb on the process:It's all by eye and measurement. I use good quality tubing, a cold saw carbide blade, good belt sander, and hand-held deburring tool. These are welded at around 35amps, with .040" tri-mix tungsten, #7 gas lens. Filler rod is .045" 316L.The aluminum exhaust is done with teh same tools, aluminum specific belt on the sander,75 amps, manipulated arc, 1/16" tri-mix tungsten, 1/16" filler rod(4043 for high-temp strength and corrosion resistance). Fit-up on both is a tight fit with a very slight bevel prep on each tube(1/32").All stainless is purged inside with argon.I have no cars at the moment on the road course with aluminum exhaust. Doing as many as 5 cars this winter though.(road racing cars)Aluminum conducts heat away very well, and sizing is everything. Don't go too small with aluminum. You have to remember it weighs so little, there is so little stress on the system. It is such an incredible savings in weight for the money. As long as your settings are good, there should be no problems. I have had aluminum on my personal car for almost 3 years, with no issues on the dyno, drag strip, or street.
