I spent 2 1/2 hrs figuring out how to scan and fit pictures to this forum. I do a lot of typing but I haven't showed much work. So here is a start. I posted these pics on a different thread, but it was a dead thread and I didn't feel like wasting that time on a dead thread.The job required my Victor torch, 7 1/2" grinder, tape, level, and a welder. The rod was all 7018, mostly 1/8 but I am sure there was some 3/32 thrown in. Obviously the bushings were sloppy to begin with. But I still pulled a tape from the stick to bucket bushing to assure as square of a repair as possible. I use the level to verify that both sets of of bushings are on the same level plane. (stick to boom and stick to bucket) This gives me the best possible alignment for a field repair. I found that a 9" torpedo level can be your best friend in the field sometimes.Duane / Ken, I know you saw these all ready, but 5 views for 2.5 hrs of effort seemed like a waste.Finish to follow. Reply:Ain't no shame in resurrecting an old thread, 'specially if it's your own.Admittedly, I'm still not up to anything resembling a "professional" level with my welding, but I do recognize nice work when I see it. Re-enforcement is never a bad thing, especially on something this hard-used.
