I'm gonna be selling these and I'm of course taking a chance of someone copying my work, but thats the way the industry is
Reply:Is the goal a longer arm? A lighter arm? Cheaper arm? I just didn't know what the goal was. Reply:My friend wanted a +1 over stock. He motocrosses, so strength was a concern was well. He already had a -1 made by an aftermarket company. With the spacer in the front of mine (Its removable) its 3/4 of a lb lighter weight than the stock (chrome arm pictured) one.
Reply:There is a guy named Mitch here in Yuma. He builds some really trick stuff. Not stuff you would expect from a small town, I guess. His stuff looks like it was made by nasa. I swear. Anyways, he built some wide tracked, extended travel arms and stuff for the side X sides and he used the thinnest sheet to build the arms, but his assembly looks tuff as hell. My buddy bought the stuff and managed to roll his side x side. The rollcage didn't make it but the arms did. Impressive if you ask me. Anyways, you did some nice work. I wish I could find a niche to make a living in. I am still floundering around. Good luck!! I hope you are the next master craftsman in the biz!!!!!!Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v  Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:For clarity, is this a motorbike suspension piece?
Reply:is that for a 250R?  Really nice work..You should have seen what i did to the stock aluminum swingarm on my 400ex?  where are they still motocrossing those old 3 wheeled machine?  KarateBoy its for a 3 wheeler.
Reply:Thanks
Reply:Yup, its for a 250R. Originally I was building it for the 86-87 bikes that have the seperated pivot points, but then I found out my buddy has the 88-89 style with the solid pivot mount so thats why the spacer is in it now. Theres quite a few people MXin the trikes actually. There's a very large group of guys in Ohio. Some in the NY and PA areas as well as out west. checkout www.3wheelerworldforums.com (I also run that forum) theres almost 15k registered three-wheeler nut jobs! I haven't made a career out of doing this yet...but I'm definitely trying to find someway to make it happen. Pretty hard to get started in the manufacturing business in this economy, even if it is geared towards hobby stuff that people will always spend money on.
Reply:BillyGoat,    Nice looking work. I may have to look you up for some advice on making a new side car frame, I have been toying with the idea of making some sort of a swing arm system to mount the suspension with.I am what I am, Deal with it!If necessity is the Mother of Invention, I must be the Father of Desperation!
Reply:looks good looks as if u changed the ride hight too and is it my eyes or is it offset to the one side a bit looks like more room to the side of the weld then the other side.
Reply:The shock mounts are actually in exactly the same positioning. Its a little dis-orienting, because the mount is lower in the siderails on my arm, but they are taller in that area than the stock ones as well, so its sort of an optical illusion.
Reply:I live in northeast PA and run the WNYOA series.  Its a harescramble series.  I guess I didnt realize there were still alot of guys racing these old machines anymore.
Reply:BillyGoatHow much off set did you give the carrier hsg? Buncha dudes around here build them squared. I spot them from the rear and can clearly see the sprockets don't line upPeter
