I picked up 2 10 lb spools of Alloy Rods dual shield wire on closeout ($10 each) from the LWS.  Apparently this company was bought by  ESAB since the info for these wires is on the ESAB  website. 1.  What would a normal price be on these or on an equivalent brand?  One is a .045 type 7000 (E71T-1) and the other in a .035 type II-71(E71T-1).   2.  For the type II-71 (which according to ESAB is recommended to be run with 100% CO2) would using a 75/25 be acceptable? 3.  I also picked up a 16 lb spool of .035 5356 for $16 made by Alcoa.  Any experience with alcoa wire?
Reply:ok, I don't have the answer to #1..#2:  It really depends on the manufacturer's specs, there are 71T-1 wires that are only meant to be run with CO2 or 75/25, but some wires can be run with both...#3:  Alcoa makes good wire in my experience
Reply:watch for the five-0, cause you stole that aluminum. 6+ bucks a pound is the best I have seen for 5356
Reply:Dual Shield and Alloy Rods (Ator Arc) are now part of the ESAB group.   Also most flux cored wires are formulated for co2 gas but metalurical values are betterwith c-25 and arc is better because of the Argon content.
