Has anyone seen anything new with the Miller line-up for 2012? I wonder if they'll come out with a multi-process machine like the Thermal Arc Fabricator 181i.

Reply:I figure I will see some tomorrow at fabtechJoeMiller 140 Autoset (2010)Miller Syncrowave 250 (1996)
Reply:If the 181 performs in the shop once they get out it's really going to change the market place. Why would anyone buy a single function machine in that power range.
Reply:I was wondering the same thing. I spent some time poking around the Miller channel looking for the new products.http://www.youtube.com/user/nielsmillerYakdung

Reply:If you go on the thermal arc web site they push portablity. lighter weight and still has the welding power. Looking at posters on this website and the miller website every one has more than one welding machine. Some of us dont work out of a shop enviroment we have to move our machines around from job to job some locations are miles apart. I have always told my Miller welder dealer that a small portable multi process unit is what they need in there lineup. So 23 years later Thermal Arc beat them to the punch can't wait to see the 252 that they just came out with.Last edited by Milkerman; 11-17-2011 at 08:17 AM.
Reply:I was really impressed with the 181i. Seems inverter technology makes all the difference. ThermalArc will be coming out with the 210 that will be 115/220 volt to rival the Dynasty200.The big winner will be the AC/DC 252i mig/tig/stick. I could realistically get rid of 2 of my migs and have a tig at my disposal. Miller will be countering this with 2 new AC/DC Tig/stick Dynastys that will blow your mind. Next spring will be very exiting. So far I have plans to purchase the 252i, or the one of the new Dynasty 280s.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:even worse if you have to lug a heavy multi process machine around vs much lighter smaller more portable separate machines. I remember years back that a manufacturer brought at out a multi function all in one machine. IT was a unreliable POS. the different systems kept blowing each other out.the other downside of an all in one is it makes it much easier to steel on machine in a second that it is 3.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
