well i get to go and buy my tig torch and argon regulater today. then i finally get to learn how to tig.also ive heard that you can use mig wire for filler and was wondering if it would be worth buying a small roll of mig wire rather than a pack of tig wirehttp://datingsidorsingel.com/

Reply:Mig wire is great to tig with if its small stuff.   You may want to just get some 1/16" to see how nice it is.  LWS sells it by the pound.Mig wire and Tig wire have the same specs.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:i got an esseti tig torch and am yet to pick up the regulatori know the brand for the regulator is messer but im stuck in deciding between the normal twin gauge and a flowmeter. the flowmeter only costs about 20 dollars more but i though since im learning that 20 bucks mite be better spent on more filler or tungstens or cups or somethinghttp://datingsidorsingel.com/

Reply:i'm not really sure... i jsut play with the ones at work. we have both styles... i jsut prefer the flowmeter becuase it's easier to read off hand... thedual-dial verisons are all dirty in the shop.Later,Andy

Reply:start with the right filler ........ mig wire is ok if needed ...but i would go buy the right stuff if you are going to tig if in a pinch and have no 1/16-3/32-1/8 tig  then sure use mig wire ---but you learn faster -do better welds   with the right stuff (rod-filer-wire)

Reply:well i decided to get the twin gauge regulator and i got 5kg (10lb) of copper coated tig filler. its 3/32 diameter and so is the tungsten which is red end.now all i have to do is wait for and adapter to arrive then im starting to learnhttp://datingsidorsingel.com/
Reply:Good luck on your weldin adventure. The only problem with the twin gade it is usualy calibrated to a specific hose size and lenghth. Not to wory I use bothe and I just know were to set it. I have a 25' hose and a 5' hose with bothe regulator types. just play with it and learn were it works best. Remember to much gas can cause more trouble than to little. If I am welding stainless I use about 15cfm if I am doing cabon steel this will give me air holes due to the tubulance so for carbon I use 10cfm. Regulators are not a sience they are an art. Take your time and just find the minimum setting (to save gas) and stick with it. Steel Thunder Welding LLC.
