I've enjoyed looking at pictures of other projects on here so I thought I'd some too.  Its just a simple little cart for my Hobart Handler 180. Attached Images

Reply:Nicely done
Reply:That's a nice looking cart!  Just make sure you secure that gas bottle.  I didn't see anything to keep the bottom of the bottle from moving around and no chain or anything around the top.  Small ratchet straps will do the trick until you come up with something better.Great job though, looks good.Work HARDER, not smarter! ------------------------ Miller Bobcat 250Millermatic 251Lincoln Precision TIG 185Hypertherm PM 600Hobart 135 HandlerOxweld 400 FlameMaster

Reply:Nice Cart!  Would you mind taking pic of how the main wheel was mounted??  I'm new learning welding myself and I can't figure out how I would mount the bigger wheels.  I found a 3 feet threaded rod from my hardware store but can't figure out how to mount it.  I'm thinking of just welding it at the bottom but there might be a better option for it.  Thanks//Jo

Reply:Originally Posted by Rade0041I would take a picture but I kind of screwed it up.  What I tried to do was have the solid 5/8 rod just welded across the bottom of the frame and have it stick out 3" on each side.  I accidentally cut it too short.  I ended up cutting that piece in half and welding each piece to the frame.  I clamped a piece of angle iron to the frame and squared that to the frame and just let the rod rest against it while I tacked it in place.  I still need to thread the ends of the rod so I can put a nut on there to hold the wheels on.  You could probably do the same with the threaded rod but it is probably plated you may want to remove the plating before you weld.  You could drill through your frame, put the rod through and hold it in place with a couple of nuts but what fun is that if you have a welder, right?
Reply:I had to register just to say what a nice cart that is. Can I ask how you matched the Hobart paint?I've been jealous of the Miller and Lincoln guy's matching their cart's paint to their welders - now I see a Hobart guy has done it too!
