working hours

HiThis is my second thread. i am new welder and my first thread was about "what is robot welding". Well I got the job and i like it.Thing is after  the training I will work 7 days x 12 hrs which comes to 82 hours a week (from 6 am to 6 pm, 1/2 hour lunch paid for). BUT, the next 7 days are off.So 1 week 82 hours next week off. Just wanted to see what you guys think about such a schedule. Would you take it or you prefer the regular 8 hour 5x a week?ThanksCliff

Reply:Hell I'm used to working 60-70 EVERY week.  If another 12 hours meant I'd get a week off I'd be on that like white on rice.

Reply:How you like it depends on how hungry you are.  I did the 3 on and 3 off for 18 years and loved it.   I got promoted and now work M-F.  That was a life style change.I think you will like it,  Did you know this before hiring on?Dan
Reply:I'd be all over that schedule.  *as long as they don't start making you work the off weeks when it's busy, for No O.T. pay..Buy American, or don't whine when you end up on the bread line.
Reply:I do 4 on and 4 off , 12 hours a day and love it. I work 1/2 a year for same money, aesome you'll love 7 on and 7 off ever better.
