I had some interest in my older welding rig when it was seen in a pic I posted in another thread. Here it is loaded down and in it's used condition! Sorry for pic quality, they were taken with Blackberry Attached Imageshttp://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything
Reply:Very neat, I'm a big fan of the tube look. Is there any concern with the outboard tanks? They do look well mounted...
Reply:The outboard tanks are as solidly mounted as you can imagine. Each has a specially made SET of clamps whose base is welded to the tubing. In addition, the tanks sit on a small platform. They are not just suspended with clamps. As for the tube, it got outta control when I started building it. One thing led to another and before long there was a rollcage surrounding it.There was discusion about access to the panels on another forum. I knew this was not an issue because the tray lifts off the top and the entire Bobcat lifts out easily. I built a gantry lift that makes short work of removal!I have had the machine in some precarious situations, terrain-wise. Took it down the side of a very rocky and rugged slope SEVERAL times. Nothing so much as budged. In situations like that, it IS neccesary to let the Acetylene settle for a little while before using it!http://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything
Reply:I try to answer questions on the original post so others can see instead of just the PM format.I was asked about the balance. The trailer is very balanced. So much so that you can pick the tongue up with 2 fingers and easily roll it around. Stopping it is another story. Once I built the trailer, I was walking it up to my New Duramax and could not set it on the hitch fast enough......I still have a nice dent in my tailgateIf anyone else has a question, please direct it here and I will be more than happy to answer. I prefer here because often other people are wondering the same thing! It is a learning experience so we can all gain from it.Granthttp://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything

Reply:You are excused. That logic has nothing todo with fishtailing. The length of the "neck" coupled with placement of the tires has everything to do with unwanted handling characteristics. The axle width and the placement of the bulk mass in relation to the neck determines handling.85 mph not so much as a twitch.Granthttp://jackalopefab.com/MM210Synchrowave 200DXMiller XMT350 w/60series feederMiller Bobcat 250 with SGA 100 and spoolgunHTP PlasmaFull Machine shop with everything |
