Heres some welds i did on my atv trailer project. How do they look? I used a lincoln weld pak, .035 innershield nr211mp wire. Thanks
Reply:Some look OK, some.....The horizontal weld with all the circles does not look right to me.  It should be a smooth bead of even thickness, depth and width.  How big (thick) is the plate? The bottom welds in the first pic inside the box look pretty good.  You should be able to get rid of the spatter.  Maybe less stickout or fine tune a little more.  NR211 is good stuff.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:1/2 thick that i found at demolition company that tosses scrap in the woods by my house. Yea i know what ur talking about with the circles. Thats casue i had weld some angle iron to some tubing and i didnt want to burn though so i did alot of spot welds trying to keep the puddle moving along.
Reply:When welding heavy to light, favor the heavy side and just go over to the thin enough to get penetration, then get outa there.  You should get the edge of the bead on the thin stuff.Spot welds like that don't hold much.  Each start and stop is the best place for a crack to start and you have many starts and stops.DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Thanks alot David! I will do that next for welding heavy to light.
